Who Can Get a Mommy Makeover?

Mothers of all ages who dislike the changes in their bodies due to pregnancy, childbirth, and breastfeeding are good candidates for Mommy Makeover procedures.

Though becoming a mother is an incredible experience, the physical impact of motherhood on a woman's body is undeniably powerful. Pregnancy can leave a mother with separated abdominal muscles (otherwise known as diastasis recti), sagging abdominal skin, and stubborn areas of fat, while breastfeeding can cause breasts to sag or appear deflated.

Because every woman's body is different, Dr. Sadeghi works with each patient to determine which of four Mommy Makeover procedures—liposuction, tummy tuck, breast lift, and breast augmentation—will give her the best results.

Women who are done having children, who don't smoke, and who have realistic expectations of the Mommy Makeover's power to change their bodies are the best candidates.

The Mommy Makeover Procedures

Each procedure targets an area of the body affected by pregnancy, birth, or breastfeeding. With Dr. Sadeghi's guidance, you can decide for yourself which procedures you'd like.

Breast lift and breast augmentation are often combined to combat the de-volumizing effects of aging and breastfeeding, while combining liposuction and abdominoplasty ("tummy tuck") procedures can do wonders to correct sagging, flabby, or loose abdominal skin and fat.

Risks of the Mommy Makeover Procedures

Your risks will depend on the procedure(s) that you decide to undergo. Common aftereffects of cosmetic surgery include swelling and soreness, especially near any incision sites. Fatigue is also common after surgery.

Recovering From Your Mommy Makeover

Like your risk, your recovery time will vary depending on which procedures you've had done. Many women can return to their normal lives about two weeks after their Mommy Makeover. Remember that eating a nutritious diet high in vitamins and protein will give your body extra fuel to recover.

It's important to avoid rigorous exercise for at least six weeks after your procedure(s) so your body has enough time to heal. Dr. Sadeghi and our dedicated team of nurses and care staff will give you all of the information you need to recover smoothly.
