Who Can Get a Breast Lift?

Breast lift, also known as mastopexy, is ideal for women who would like to correct sagging or low-hanging breasts, as well as for women who have lost elasticity or firmness in their breast tissue.

The Breast Lift Procedure

There are several options for lifting and tightening breast tissue. Dr. Sadeghi will consult with you to choose the procedure right for you.

In general, during a breast lift, breasts are reshaped and tissue is tightened, resulting in breasts that sit higher on the chest. Incisions are made around the areola, with some small areas of tissue removed in order to tighten the breast.

In a mastopexy lift procedure, which is ideal for women with a great deal of sagging tissue, and/or nipples that hang below the breast crease, Dr. Sadeghi may make a vertical incision from the areola to the breast crease. Then, he lifts and reshapes underlying breast tissue; repositions the areola and nipple to a natural height; and closes the incisions. The type of incision chosen for the lift is dependent on the breast shape and anatomy and varies for each patient.

Complementary Procedures

The breast lift procedure is often combined with augmentation with implants or with fat grafting — because, while a breast lift addresses breast position, it cannot provide additional volume. For women who have very large, sagging breasts, a lift can be combined with breast reduction for smaller, natural-looking breasts. Fat grafting offers a natural option in augmentation of the breasts without the need for use of implants. The results procedure superior fullness and add cleavage to the lifted breasts.

Risks of the Breast Lift Procedure

Breast lift surgery involves normal surgical risks, including the risk of infection, bleeding, and scarring. It may also involve the risk of permanent pigment changes in the skin, and the risk of asymmetry following recovery.

However, Dr. Sadeghi is an expert in breast lifts, augmentation, reduction, and restoration. View before and after pictures of breast lift patients, or read patient testimonials to hear about their experiences with Dr. Sadeghi.

Recovering from Your Breast Lift

It's important to follow your post-operative instructions to the letter when recovering from your surgery. Your results will be immediately apparent, though swelling will take about a week to go down, and incisions will fade over time.
