Who Can Get a Face Lift?

Though most face lift candidates are in their 30s or older, elasticity of the skin is the primary consideration.

Perhaps the best-known cosmetic surgery procedure of the face, a face lift removes extra skin and fat from the face, tightening underlying muscles and reducing drooping or sagging skin — from the chin to the bottom of the eye area.

In addition, face lifts can address jowls and double chins. If necessary and desired, Dr. Sadeghi can combine your face lift procedure with eyelid surgery or a brow lift to maximize your results.

The Face Lift Procedure

Dr. Sadeghi will evaluate you to determine if you're a good candidate for face lift. If so, you can expect your face lift to proceed generally like the following:

First, incisions are made at certain points around the face, usually near the hairline. Some may also be made under the chin.

Next, Dr. Sadeghi gently lifts the skin, adjusting it and the underlying fascial tissue. This provides more support to your facial features, including the jawline, and reduces sagging skin.

Finally, any excess fat is removed before the skin is smoothed and reattached behind the ear.

Risks of the Face Lift Procedure

With any bilateral cosmetic procedure, there is an occasional risk of asymmetry as the skin heals. In some patients, scars are not satisfactorily hidden. There is also a small risk of facial nerve damage.

However, most patients are very happy with their results! See our patient gallery or testimonials. If you have any questions, schedule your face lift consultation with Dr. Sadeghi.

Recovering From Your Face Lift

Bruising and swelling are normal aftereffects of face lift surgery. On the night following your surgery, you'll need to sleep in an elevated position. Cold compresses can help with pain and swelling, as can medications prescribed by Dr. Sadeghi.
